Welcome to the blog!

It all begins with an idea. Like a cat setting out to sea, accidentally stowed away under a blanket on a rowing boat in the eternal search for better kibble and a cosy purring nook, we have no idea what we’re in for but we’re here now, for the ride, and we’re loving it.

Perhaps you’re already a creator of something, like me. Perhaps you want to be but don’t know where to start. Perhaps your creative brain sees the world a little differently, and it sometimes makes you wonder if you might be going mad- or perhaps you always were… (There’s a great film I’m thinking of here, but even to mention its name would be a spoiler given what I just said. Sorry. If it was a living person it would be a teenager now. That’s a clue: go back to whenever teenagers could plausibly be from in 2024 and start there and work your way back through all the films. You’re welcome!)

Anyway. Perhaps you need a community of like-minded arty folk, slightly mad, more inclined to travel down a daydream than a plan, but in love with structure all the same. Perhaps you love to make, design, dream, build, and you want prompts, an adventure and a heroic journey. This is the place for you.

At Happily Ever Drawn you are an explorer, navigating through an artistic universe of imagination, craft, and the occasional big thinking-question. You sail in a fleet of other big thinking, creative folk in search of meaning and pursuing happiness.

You’ll think with your hands, learning new skills and new crafts, you’ll live inside stories, exploring new ideas, reading book reviews, artistic product reviews, destination reviews that pertain to art and arty endeavours, and you’ll build your own creative pathway to the moon or wherever else you want to go.

You also have a chance to join the Happily Ever Drawn School of Art, and earn badges for your participation. You can choose one of our courses or programmes to delve into a creative subject in more detail, or to challenge yourself to start or finish a project. Occasionally there will also be online workshops where you can meet your fellow arty travellers, and hopefully one day, the prospect of an arty, think-y retreat, away from the madness of everyday life, somewhere beautiful and set to spark your imaginative dream potential. Find out out more by exploring the ‘Courses’ section of the website.

So. Kitty in a cosy little rowing boat, where are you off to? I’ll see you on the next island. May your voyage be starry and your waters calm.
